I love the beautiful image of the forest from this year’s graduating class. Celebrating the diversity of individual characteristics, it evokes our desire for designing in harmony with humanity and the environment.
The design speaks to our hearts that there is hope for the future. A future where Gen Z has the resilience and wisdom to rise above the traumatic memories of COVID to rebuild our world together.
During the pandemic, companies have been forced to adapt to new values and business models to survive. From digital twins to the Metaverse, a highly immersive, sensory virtual world where we will interact, work and play. Our world is heading towards a digitalized future. It has also highlighted the importance of our connections to nature, the need for genuine human interactions and to course-correct our over-dependence on technology. Being the first “digital natives” entering the work force post-pandemic, your generation has the technological foundations and tools to become facilitators of what AI generates.
Go out into the world. Listen to people to know where technology is appropriate. Go and prove that with design, technology and digitalization can be a force for good to create more caring societies in the future.
The world is looking to you to play a leading role to make changes where it is most needed.
