［授業概要］
社会におけるデザイナーの役割へのニーズは、マーケットの最終段階における形の創造から、社会そのものを変える新しい創造的能力へと変遷しつつある。アジア諸国を中心とした新興国の経済発展により、日本の企業や各分野のプロの方々はますますグローバルに仕事する力が求められています。
日本は長年英語教育を受けてきたのに、なぜ、グローバルに仕事のできる人財が不足しているのでしょうか？それは、言語だけの問題でなく「考え方」にあるといえるでしょう。
本授業ではこのような社会的要請に答え、「海外最新デザイン事情」をテーマに、グローバルな環境におけるコラボレーションを養うプロジェクトを探り、形だけでなく社会システムにおけるクリエイティブな課題解決を実現するトレンドやグローバルに活躍する人材育成における大きな潮流などを紹介。
目標を達成するために、以下の調査を実施：
アジアを始め、北欧、ヨーロッパ、北米、中東、アフリカ５大陸のクリエイティブ・シティー（creative city）に焦点を置く。異なる文化背景を持つ様々な地域のデザイン政策やデザイン企業などにおける価値観、発想の原点、クリエイティブの本質を探る。
社会問題のリサーチ、分析を通して取り組むべき問題を明確にし、その問題を創造的に解決するアイデアを見つけだす。各デザインプロセスにおける経験者を交え、講義やディスカーションなどを通じて、デザインリサーチから社会実践までのすべての過程を学ぶ。
Creative Cities- A Journey through the Cities of Design
In this class, we will look at the fresh perspectives of innovators from diverse cultures, traditions and cities all around the world to explore how design can play a role in providing unique and emotionally satisfying experiences for its citizens. Through field research and class discussions, the students will learn not only to explore the work of these innovators, but also to examine their humanity, their values, and the essence of their creativity.
To achieve these goals, students will conduct field research from the following:

“Good Design Award” is commonly known as activity to make our life and society better by DESIGN. In recent years, design is necessary to discover resolve an issue and new theme. The award does not contend for superiority of design, but makes new discoveries and connecting to next creation. The whole process is regarded as design our future.
